![]() "%AppData%\Notepad \plugins\Config\PythonScript\scripts\Time. Im trying to find another way to write a basic script that I can use to insert a time and date stamp into any text editor. I dont have the Python plugin for Notepad either. (See Python 2's time.strftime documentation for details.) I have Notepad , but dont have TextFx (and I read it doesnt work in the current version anyway). ![]() This allows you to have total control over the text output. You can change the format string as you wish. Then you can write a simple script like this: import time (See this thread for details.) Write "Time.py" script edit it with notepad (or any plain text editor like VS Code, Vim, Notepad . ![]() Please note that you must download the Python Script plugin from because downloading it from the Plugin Manager in Notepad doesn't always work. Hi all, A feature I use very frequently is the Insert Date Time button on. I prefer to use the Python Script plugin as documented here: īecause it gives me total control over how I want to the datetime stamp formatting to look, and it also allows me to create macro scripts for inserting other types of values that I want to compute.
